Amadou & Mariam

Amadou and Mariam, whose full names are Amadou Bagayoko and Mariam Doumbia, are a couple of Malian musicians and singers.
Both blind, they became known in the early 2000’s where they gained notoriety and sympathy from the French public.
In 2005, they won a Victoire de la Musique award in the world category for the album Dimanche à Bamako, produced with the help of Manu Chao (who declared himself a fan of the duo from the start). They win again a Victoire de la musique in 2013 for the album Folila.
