Embrun - history

Former archiepiscopal city, built on a rock 80 meters high, Embrun has a remarkable architectural heritage. The jewel being the Cathedral Notre-Dame du Réal of the 12th century.

The Cathedral

A unique place that has gone through 800 years of history. Of Lombard style (very rare in France), it is the witness of the rich and fascinating history of the Archbishopric of Embrun. A monument not to be missed during your visit.

The Brown Tower

A few steps away from the Cathedral, in the old center of the city, this square tower is the ideal place to gain height and enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the Embrunais.
